Jim Wallis is a New York Times bestselling author, public theologian, national preacher, and international commentator on ethics and public life.  He is president and founder of Sojourners in Washington, D. C., a non-profit faith-based organization, network and movement whose mission statement calls for “putting faith into action for social justice.”  He is also editor-in-chief of Sojournersmagazine and website which has a combined print and electronic media readership of more than a quarter million people, with several million visitors to the website each year.

Mr. Wallis is a frequent speaker in the United States and abroad, has written for major newspapers, and appears frequently on network shows such as Meet the Press and Hardball and National Public Radio.  Wallis also teaches at Georgetown University and has taught at Harvard and other academic institutions.  He is the chair of the Global Agenda Council on Values of the World Economic Forum.

Wallis is the author of twelve books.  His most recent book, America’s Original Sin:  Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America, was released in 2016.   His other books include On God’s SideRediscovering ValuesThe Great Awakening, and God’s Politics. 

Jim Wallis lives in Washington, D. C., with his wife Joy Carroll, who was one of the first women ordained in the Church of England, and their two sons.
