DESCRIPTION:The Christian Lenten season is a more reflective time of year that reminds us to concentrate on living differently. Lent invites us to slow down and to release things that are holding us back from a spiritual\, conscious life. \nMost of us are living lives with too much speed. We have so many choices\, many which pull us away from our center and spirituality. We get caught up in drama and try to hide emptiness and feelings with overeating\, the internet\, TV\, or busyness. \nPope Francis wrote in his creation care encyclical\, “Humanity is called to recognize the need for changes in lifestyle\, production and consumption\, in order to combat this warming [of the planet] or at least the human causes which produce or aggravate it.” (Laudato Si’ #23) Adoption of a simple lifestyle is required to promote a culture of sufficiency and reduce harm to the planet and all creation. \nThis year we are partnering with Beth Dargis\, creator of My Simpler Life\, to bring our members a new 2026 Lenten Creation Care Challenge with the theme of living simply. \nIf you would like to join GCCC on this year’s Simple Living Lenten journey\, you can do so in one of two ways: \n\nGo to Beth Dargis website and purchase the downloadable PDF for $2.99 to do the challenge on your own\n\nor \n\nSign up here  to receive the daily inspirational message on Simple Living from GCCC during Lent (February 18 through April 5)
