SUMMARY:Jesus for Everyone\, Chapter 2: "Enslavement"
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we start our new book study\, Jewish New Testament scholar’s new book\, Jesus for Everyone: Not Just Christians. \nTwo thousand years after his birth and death\, Jesus of Nazareth continues to be of vital interest. Yet much of the scholarship around Jesus focuses on his religious significance. Jesus for Everyone examines his most famous teachings from a fresh perspective\, exploring how they have continued to shape ethics and civilization in the West for two millennia. \nEven for those who reject faith\, Jesus’s life and his philosophy are important to study\, writes renowned biblical scholar and author Amy-Jill Levine\, because of the insights they hold for us today. Poring through scripture\, analyzing what historical scholarship has revealed about Jesus’s views on a number of subjects—including women—reveals surprising messages sure to be fascinating to all readers. \nThis week\, we will read and discuss the second chapter\, “Enslavement.”

SUMMARY:Daylight Savings Time Ends
DESCRIPTION:Don’t forget to turn your clocks back for an extra hour of sleep! \n\n\n\n\nAutumn. Time to dim the sunlight\, cue the moody fog\, & watch nature’s most charming story unfold.\n~ Angie Weiland-Crosby\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this time of the year\, Mother Nature directs a story of slowing\, decay\, and compost. As her mood shifts from summer’s lightness to fall’s depth\, daylight shortens\, fog rolls in\, and color blooms before falling to sleep.
