Wade in the Water: Bryan Stevenson

Please mark your calendars for Wade in the Water’s regular monthly meeting, MONDAY, March 25, from 6 – 8 PM,

at All Saints Episcopal, Government and Ann Sts.

At this meeting, we’ll watch part two of the Emmy Award winning HBO feature documentary, True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight for Equality, which follows 30 years of the Equal Justice Initiative’s work on behalf of the poor, the incarcerated, and the condemned. The film focuses on Bryan Stevenson’s life and career—particularly his indictment of the U.S. criminal justice system for its role in codifying modern systemic racism—and tracks the intertwined histories of slavery, lynching, segregation, and mass incarceration.

The viewing of the film will be followed by small-group discussions.
