Africatown Freedom Tour

All are welcome to join our upcoming Africatown Freedom Tour led by Chiquitta Lamar Howard. The tour includes a visit to the Heritage House Museum with Memory Keeper and Garden, the Robert Hope Center, Mobile County Training School, Meaher Land Markers, Kidd Park Africa Wall, Clotilda Mural, Landing of the Enslaved, Old/New Cemetery, Union Baptist Church, Door of Return, Meaher Ave., and Meaher Plantation. Cost is $35 per person. Please let the office know if you are interested in joining. Our friend Mareike Flatow (from Germany) will be visiting and will join us on the tour!

We will pay on the day of the event and Chiquitta accepts cash, credit cards, Cash App 2513746767 $Africatown, or Venmo 2516484188 Lamar Howard.

The Heritage House Museum is free to residents of Mobile County, $15 for adults residing outside Mobile County, and $9 for seniors (65+).

Tour starts at the Heritage House, 2465 Winbush Street. Please let the office know if you would like to meet at the church and ride together.
