About the Retreat: 

With the biblical figure Jochebed, mother of Moses, as our guide, we will embark on a profound journey into the sacred art of surrender. Jochebed exemplified ancestral knowing, deep listening, and a fierce, quiet trust even in the face of empire and uncertainty.

Together, participants will have the opportunity to “weave a surrender—strand by strand—with the bitumen and pitch of our lives,” learning to listen for the voice of the Spirit as we practice release. 

This retreat is a dedicated space to practice letting go, to sit with mystery, and to remember that surrender is the beginning of power. Participants are encouraged to “come ready to weave, come ready to release, and come ready to be transformed”.

Rev. Dr. Vanessa Monroe is a visionary pastor, scholar, and spiritual director with over two decades of experience in leading transformational ministry where faith, justice, and community empowerment intersect.
