LGBTQ+ Liaisons Next Steps Gathering

Mayor Stimpson, under pressure from a number of Baptist pastors and community members protesting Pride events, has dissolved the LGBTQ+ Liaison position he created for Mike Tyner and Natalie Fox two years ago. We have all been hopeful that this was a sign Mobile was moving in the direction of greater inclusivity, but are instead disheartened by this recent turn of events.
Mike and Natalie will be hosting a community gathering at Flip Side Bar and Patio from 4:00 – 6:00 pm this coming Saturday, August 19. They will be joining with several local LGBTQ+ community support agencies to address the dissolving of the LGBTQ+ City Liaison position and talk about next steps in a new plan to build and strengthen our community.
