MLK Jr. Day 2026

The City of Prichard, in partnership with the Bullheads Community Action Group, will host the 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Walk for Hope on Monday, January 19, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The walk will begin at Greater Ruth Chapel AME Church, located at 1214 Rich Avenue, Prichard, AL 36610, and will proceed along the following route: West Main Street to South Wilson Avenue to West Love Joy Loop to East Prichard Avenue, concluding at Prichard City Hall, located at 216 East Prichard Avenue.
The annual Walk for Hope serves as a reminder of Dr. King’s message of justice, service, and collective responsibility, while reinforcing the City’s commitment to progress and community engagement. Residents, families, faith leaders, civic organizations, and community partners are encouraged to participate and walk together in the spirit of unity and remembrance.
