Wade in the Water: The 1619 Project—Justice

Please mark your calendars for Wade in the Water’s regular monthly meeting, MONDAY, November 27, from 6 – 8 PM, at Bethel AME.

At this meeting, we’ll watch the sixth episode of The 1619 Project documentary, entitled “Justice”—Through Nikole Hannah-Jones’ family story and one Georgia community fighting for restitution, “Justice” examines the historical events that denied Black Americans the opportunity to build generational wealth, and what is owed to descendants of slavery.

Following the film we will begin our group discussion considering the episode we watched in October, Fear. Please see the flyer for this event below.

Since we’ll be aiming to start the film as close to six o’clock as possible, please arrive a little before six to get your snack and find a seat.
