Wade in the Water: The Black Church, Part 3

All are welcome to join our intercongregational gathering with Bethel AME for fellowship, education, sharing our diverse cultures, and refreshments. We regularly meet on the fourth Monday of each month.

Please mark your calendars for Wade in the Water’s next monthly meeting, Monday, September 30, from 6 – 8 PM, at Bethel AME, 714 Savannah Street, Mobile.

At this meeting we’ll finish the Henry Louis Gates, Jr. documentary, The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song, which explores the 400-year history of the Black church in America.

A discussion will follow the showing of the film.

In addition, our own Amelia Bacon and Beverly Cooper, co-founders of Stand-Up Mobile, will introduce us to Stand-Up’s new Volunteer Coordinator, Bernadette Allen, who’ll talk to us about some opportunities for helping to get out the vote on November 5th.
