Wade in the Water

It’s time for our fall check-in to see how we’re all doing with the turbulence that’s rocking our world. Please come to a good old-fashioned community gathering for a night of fellowship and support. How are you feeling about our local election results? What concerns do you have for the future of our city? For the last several months, racism and anti-Blackness have been on the rise, with our country’s president firing most Black people in any position of power, especially Black women. He’s sending troops into cities with Black mayors. HBCU’s are under new attacks, with repeated bomb scares, etc. How are you dealing emotionally with these developments? How are you handling the daily deportations, without a hint of due process, of migrants and refugees? How are you feeling about the recent assaults on free speech? How is your faith serving you in all this? Please bring your insights, observations, and personal experiences to share. We hope you’ll find some comfort in knowing you’re not alone.
