Holy Envy, Chapter 4: “Holy Envy”

Join us for our new “sermon time” topic, Barbara Brown Taylor’s Holy Envy. In her book, Taylor describes embracing more fully her own Christianity—albeit a gentler version—through her exploration of the other major world religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam.

Barbara Brown Taylor is an Episcopal Priest who taught comparative religion for many years at a college affiliated with the United Church of Christ, Piedmont University and describes herself as a writer, speaker, and spiritual contrarian who “says things I’m not supposed to say.”

This week we will read and discuss Chapter 4, “Holy Envy,” and Chapter 5, “The Nearest Neighbors.” Miranda Schrubbe will lead.
